Prez Says for April 2024

Will April showers bring May flowers?  The extended weather forecast for April does not show snow but does indeed show lots of rain.  Will you be visiting the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival this month?  Are you ready for Tax Day on the 15th?  How will you spend your refund?  Think about upgrading some of your electronics.  Years ago we expected things we purchased to last forever; unfortunately, the rapid changes now in technology mean that to keep up we need to refresh our devices more rapidly.

On April 2nd, we will have our Tech Corner and General Meeting at the North Bellevue Community Center. These will be hybrid meetings (in-person and via Zoom).  Our General Meeting program will be "Windows Privacy" presented by KEGS Member Andy Peck.   He will cover Windows 10 and 11 privacy issues and settings available to users. Please join us via Zoom for this informative topic.

Do you have questions about one of your computer devices or software? Join Leader Andy Peck at 6:00 PM on April 2nd for our Technology Corner hybrid meeting.  April’s topics include Android Permissions, New Power Toys release, Chrome Incognito Mode lawsuit, 1440 Newsletter, Risks Digest, Annoying popups, etc.

If you want to learn more about Linux, visit Steve Herber at our Linux Special Interest Group hybrid meeting starting at 6:30 PM on April 9th.  The Linux Group also has a build-your-own server project Zoom meeting at 7:00 PM on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month.

You are invited to attend the Digital Imaging Special Interest Group Meeting via Zoom with Sally Ann at 7:00 PM on Tuesday evening, April 23rd.  The April Theme is Bridges.

KEGS needs a storage space to use to store Auction donations for several months and then we need a staging area to use for one day on the Saturday before the June Auction.  If you know of space for this, please contact me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..  Thanks for your help.

To keep up with technology, visit https://www.techforsenior.com to learn about their Monday morning meetings (9:00 AM PT), their Newsletter, and their Facebook page.

Be sure to download all security updates on all of your devices.

Please renew your KEGS membership for 2024 if you have not done so.

We welcome visitors!  I look forward to seeing you soon.
