We are now in the throws of giving over control of this site to the Portland PC Users Group. Ambrose Bittner has taken the leadership role in making this the site for everyone to use for further information on the upcoming RainCoast event in October 2001.
If you would like to join a list that will be discussing all the details of the upcoming event, or just want to listen in, then please use the link below. That list is open to everyone, and is unmoderated. There will be occasional additions of advertising to the end of each message, but Topica has been very good about keeping those intrusions small. One caveat: If you wish to receive your mail in a digest, instead of individually as they are posted, then you will need to log onto Topica.com. When you do, be sure that you have cookies enabled.
If you have any ideas, suggestions, or even just plain questions, the list would be an excellent place to start. Remember, the actual address for the list is "raincoastevent@topica.com". Unfortuantely, the word "raincoast" by itself was already taken, and is a closed and hidden list, so I can't even find out who has it or why. Oh well.
Please bear with us for the next week or two as we switch control over the the PPCUG. Thanks for your understanding.
LATE BREAKING NEWS:
To top this off, we are now looking for a new host for our site. MarchFirst, the former USWEB/CKS, was very kind to us, but their mission has changed directions, and they can no longer support us. We will be transferring to a new provider soon, and hopefully the changeover will go smoothly. If for some reason you find that we are "down", please don't despair. We will be back up soon enough!
Al Hooper, Treasurer/Registrar for RC'99 and current Website caretaker

A BIG Thank You to MarchFirst, formerly known as USWEB/CKS for the donation of hosting services to KEGS/RCAUG.
Thanks to Stever Fondren for the initial push, and to Paul Nutley for putting up with the confusion.
