Our main presenter at our January Meeting
will be Judd Williams from UltraBac, a local Bellevue company.
UltraBac specializes in providing high performance backup
software for corporate and individual users of Microsoft
operating systems. UltraBac now has added premier disaster
recovery software to their line of products. This should be an
informative meeting about backing up data, something that most
of us know we should do, but do we do it? For more information
about UltraBac, go to

Build Your Own Personal Computer
This two-part seminar explores the topic of “Building Your Own
PC.” Part I looks at the different components of a PC, and
selection criteria for purchasing the best components for your
individual purposes. Part II not only walks you step by step
through the process of building a PC, but also enables your
group to have special pricing and support on everything you’ll
need to build a state-of-the-art, Intel technology based PC.
This program is being presented by our own Steve Fondren. |

MACRO PHOTOGRAPHY by Herb Johnson
Herb Johnson is a past coordinator for The
Seattle Mountaineer’s Basic Nature Photography Course and
Digital Photography Workshop.
Here is your
opportunity to learn about the art of taking close-ups from a
very skilled photographer. Be sure to bring lots of questions
to this meeting.
Even if macro
photography is not your specific interest, you will be awed by
Herb’s outstanding photos. A little over a year ago, Herb
dazzled us with his choreographed “fade-dissolve” demonstration
and “before and after” images prepared with Adobe Photoshop.
Herb will be bringing his higher resolution projector to
maximize your enjoyment of his photos. |

If you want to find out what tools a
technician uses to clean up a computer, then this program is for
you. First, our Member Steve Fondren will demonstrate a perfectly
safe computer that also can be used as a personal computer (unlike
a library desktop). Along the way he will be looking at tools to
clean a computer like a technician. Steve thinks that one of the
interesting parts is to learn the number of controls you have for
what happens by default on your computer. Be sure to bring lots
of questions.
A
representative from Bellevue Community College will also give us a
short presentation on their continuing education program. |
